Welcome to the 17th Australasian Plant Breeding Conference 2025

APBC 2025 is proudly hosted by Australasian Plant Breeding Association

The Australasian Plant Breeding Conference is renowned for its commitment to advancing plant breeding practices across a wide range of sectors, including but not limited to grain production, horticulture, viticulture, pomology, olericulture, floriculture and horticulture. Over three dynamic days, attendees will engage in a series of plenary lectures, thematic sessions, interactive posters, and working groups. Following the theme of celebrating impact, each presentation will feature an ‘impact slide’ showcasing how cutting-edge plant breeding research contributes towards practical improvements on the farm. This diverse programme is designed to facilitate meaningful discussions and showcase the latest advancements in the field of plant breeding.

Why Should You Attend?

  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with leading experts, researchers, and practitioners from industry, academia, and government. The conference provides a unique platform to exchange ideas, explore collaborations, and expand your professional network.

  • Innovative Insights: Gain valuable insights into the latest research, technologies, and methodologies in plant breeding. Our carefully curated sessions will address current challenges and future trends in the industry.

  • Diverse Topics: Whether your focus is on grains, trees, or hops, the conference covers all areas of plant breeding, ensuring that you will find relevant and impactful content.

  • Celebrating Impact: As this year’s theme will centre on plant breeding’s impact on agriculture and food security, we will be awarding the best “impact” presentation/slide at the end of the conference.
